All our fine game guns have undergone an extensive programme of restoration. All barrels have been Re-London Nitro Proofed to 2 3/4" chambers. They naturally have a practical and sensible wall thickness, fine walnut stocks and forends, have a minimum LOP of 14 1/2" and have all undergone a refurbishment of their traditional oil finish and have been skillfully re-checkered. Gun specification measurements are approximate and are for guidance only.

1) JAMES PURDEY, 12 Bore Hammer Gun

Made in 1947 as a percussion muzzle loader converted I would assume by Purdey to a top lever centre fire around 1847, a very rare and unique gun. 30" Nitro Damascus barrels with Oxford St. address on the rib. Open choke, average minimum wall thickness 35 thou. Side lock rebounding hammers with crisp detailed engraving. Fabulous English walnut stock with engraved side butt plate. LOP 14" 1/2. Nicely balanaced at 7 1/2 lbs.

2) I. Hollis London 12 Bore Hammer Gun

A late presentation hammer gun; may have been a live pigeon gun. 30" fine twist Damascus nitro barrels. Chocked 3/4 - 3/4. 34 thou average mimumum wall thickness. 2 3/4 chambered. Dolls head extension. Side lock action with rebounding hammer. Highly detailed Celtic style engraving throughout. Well figured walnut stock with semi-pistol grip. LOP 14" 3/4. 6lbs 14oz.

4) E. C. Green 12 Bore

Very fine and rare late model English over and under E.C. Green of Cheltenham. Patented action which was used by Purdey in their first over and under. 29" steel nitro barrels choked 1/4 and 1/2. Miniumum wall thickness 27 thou on average 2" 1/2 chambers. Side lock ejector action with classic scroll relief engraving. Highly figured 15" straight hand stock. Weighing 7lbs 6oz. Hand made in the late 1930s considered by many as the very best gun of it's time.

5) W. Golden 12 Bore Hammer Gun

Very fine 30" Dasmascus Nitro Barrels. 2" 3/4 chambers. Open choked with minimum 24-32 thou average wall thickness. Under lever bar side lock action with detailed crisp scroll engraving throughout. Traditional straight hand highly figured walnut stock. Well balanaced at 6lbs 10oz. W. Golden of Huddersfield was considered by many as the finest provincial gun maker in his day. He made guns for Royalty, Society and the Neveu Rich Gentlemen in trade. His guns were of the highest quality and were expensive.

6) C.H. Weston 2" 12 Bore

Charles Arthur Weston of Brighton 2" box lock ejector, made in the late 1920s. One lady owner in it's original case with 250 Eley 2" cartridges. 26" Steel nitro barrels, tightly choked. Minimum 28 thou average wall thickness. Straight hand well figured stock. LOP 14" 7/8. An ideal lightweight of 5lbs 7oz. 12 Bore - for walked up game shooting. In outstanding original condition. Cased.

8) J. Parkinson 12 Bore Hammer Gun

J. Parkinson of Dublin. A very good classic back action game gun, full capped pistol grip and patented fore-end. In pristine condition. 30" fine twist Damascus Nitro barrels. 1/4 choked. Minimum wall thickness 32 thou on average. Well figured walnut stock. LOP 14" 5/8 with original steel engraved butt plate. Weighs 6lbs 14oz.

9) Stephen Grant 12 Bore Hammer Gun

A very fine Hodges Patent side lever Grant Hammer Gun. I consider these the among the best of hammer guns. Made a joy to use and shoot (I shoot one most of the time). The best 30" fine twist Damascus nitro barrels choked 1/4 - 3/4. 2" 3/4 chambers 27 thou min wall thickness average. Classic round bar with back action locks. Woodward crisp scroll engraving accompanied by a fabulous walnut stock. LOP 14" 7/8. Perfectly well balanced weighing 6lbs 12oz. In it's oak and leather case with all accessories.

A fabulous James Purdey Side Lock Ejector in as-new condition. Made in 1969 presented with two sets of barrels 27" choked 1/4-1/2 and 30" choked 3/4-full. High figured stock and fore-end. LOP 14" 7/8. Classic Purdey rose & scroll engraving retains much of it's original finish. Cased in Purdey lightweight leather case with all accessories.

12) BOSS 12 Bore Hammer Gun

Without doubt, one of the finest Boss hammer guns made in an outstanding original condition presented in a mahogany and brass case with all accessories. 30" Nitro'd Damascus Barrels 1/4 - 1/4 choke, minimum wall thickness 26 thou on average. Exhibition highly figured walnut stock. LOP 14" 3/4 with engraved toe and heel clips. Fine Sumner engraving throughout. Weighs 6lbs 14oz. Very much a shooter. The best.

13) Westley Richards 12 Bore Box Lock Ejector

A very early A&D patented box lock ejector made in 1887 in a nice condition, remarkably retaining its' original Damascus barrels. 30" Damascus Nitro Barrels choked open & 1/4. 2" 3/4 chambers with a minimum average wall thickness of 29 thou. The gun weighs 6lbs 13oz. To shoot enjoy and collect.

Made in the 1920s for grouse and partridge shooting. Considered by many, Woodward made the best English over and unders. The condition of this gun is outstanding. 26" Steel barrel choked 1/4-1/2.
